How to Apply

Are you ready to join the ERS team of dedicated and customer-focused employees? You must meet the minimum qualifications listed on the Job Vacancy Notice to be considered for a position. If you meet the minimum qualifications, complete an application for employment, ERS Qualification Form and, if applicable,  Veteran's Preference Form for each vacancy by the deadline requested.

ERS accepts application documents via:

  • email to employment@ers.texas.gov (the fastest way), 
  • fax to [fax number in the following format (XXX) XXX-XXXX],
  • U.S. mail to P.O. Box 13207, Austin, TX 78711-3207 or
  • direct delivery or drop-off to 200 E. 18th St., Austin, TX 78701. Our office is open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. CT, Monday – Friday. There is an after-hours drop slot.

You also can submit your application via Work in Texas on the Texas Workforce Commission website, but you will need to email the ERS Qualifications Form and Veteran's Preference Form directly to us at the email address above for your application to be considered. 

However you submit your documents, you must provide both the application and the ERS Qualifications Form. If you don’t include a completed ERS Qualifications Form, your application will be incomplete and we won’t consider it. You must submit all required application materials by 5 p.m. CT on the referenced closing date on the job vacancy notice.
Note: ERS accepts resumes only as supplementary information.
