Essential Functions

The Lead RPA Administrator will serve in a technical leadership role, develop software robots and administer the RPA platform. The Lead RPA Administrator will work cross-functionally with business partners to design, develop, implement, enhance and maintain software robots which work alongside humans to enhance business process efficiency. The Lead RPA Administrator will also serve in an application administration role for the on-premises RPA platform ensuring the system remains current with respect to patches and upgrades, scheduling needs are addressed and change within the RPA ecosystem is well-managed.
Essential Responsibilities includes, but is not limited to
  • Stay abreast of evolving RPA technologies and work with business partners to identify automation opportunities
  • Work with key business partners to evaluate automation opportunities and capture business requirements
  • Provide automation guidance to non-technical business partners with automation process design
  • Design, develop, test, implement and maintain software robots
  • Create process and end-user documentation
  • Install and test automation software upgrades
  • Test the automation environment after installation of security updates
  • Monitor unattended robots and coordinate support activities when bots fail
  • Track and score proposed automations for feasibility of implementation and value using standardized RPA scoring tools and methods
  • Track and manage automations as underlying enterprise systems continue to evolve (change management role)
  • Work with IS Management to establish processes and standards to govern initial phase of Citizen Development
  • Provide coaching/coordinate vendor training for Citizen Developers
  • Support RPA deployments and troubleshoot RPA production issues outside of work hours (includes participation in an on-call rotation as-needed).
As a RPA VI, performs above duties in a highly-advanced manner with oversight and/or supervisory discretion. Completes projects that may have higher organization visibility and requires greater coordination across multiple divisions and customers.  May also:
  • Assists in analyzing and defining agency disaster recovery responsibilities and procedures.
  • Assists with budget recommendations for operating systems, including the supporting hardware and software.
  • May supervise the work of others.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or technical field. Each year of related experience over the required minimum may be substituted for one year (30 semester hours) of college credit.
  2. Five (5) to six (6) years’ experience (depending on classification level) in a related technical role.
  3. One (1) year of experience developing and consuming APIs.
  4. Experience with Agile development methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience or knowledge in the following areas are a plus.

  2. Basic programming knowledge of HTML, XML, PowerShell, JavaScript (or any other scripting language).
