Seeking experienced a senior-level Enterprise Architect to perform advanced design and analysis work for the Division of Information System. The Enterprise Architect serves as a top system design resource, responsible for Information Systems technical strategy and contributor to the overall Information Systems division technology strategy. Work involves documenting current infrastructure and recommending design improvements to improve business delivery and ensure compliance to security, performance and functional requirements.  This is an opportunity to apply expertise in building a technology roadmap aligned to meet future ERS needs as we continue to grow.

Essential Functions includes, but is not limited to
  • Oversees the enterprise architectural design and creates business architecture models that reflect ERS strategies and goals.
  • Evaluates internal functions, business development strategies, IT processes and suggests improvements.
  • Expands ERS’ use of technology as a strategic enabler of business goals and objectives.
  • Develops, collects and analyzes Enterprise Architecture metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains architecture diagrams and models for related systems using the appropriate design methodology for current operations and planning for future standardization.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of ITSM standards, tools and methodologies.
  • Participates in the development of ERS policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of information technology within ERS.
  • Provides business architecture and systems processing guidance and recommends enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.
  • Provides technical expertise in ensuring enterprise-level quality application and infrastructure rollouts.
  • Documents current and future systems, as well as the transition steps to the future systems.
  • Documents software stacks and system dependencies.
  • Translates business requirements into information technology solutions and strategies; recommends technical architecture and defines high level solutions.
  • Contributes to governance policy documentation to clearly establish clear roles in managing operation, maintenance and changes to key applications and processes.
  • Participates in Proof of Concept as well as in build versus buy efforts.
  • Evaluates systems design for discrepancies and vulnerabilities; suggests and carries out improvements.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Your application for employment must reflect how you meet each of the following minimum qualifications:
  1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in data processing, computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems or a computer technology related field; or attainment of a diploma from a two-year technical school with specialization in computer technology.  Each year of experience over the required minimum years may substitute for the education on a 30 semester-hours per year basis.
  2. Five (5) years of experience in systems analysis and design work in a progressively difficult roles. 
  3. Five (5) years of IT Architecture experience. 
  4. Five (5) years of experience leading large, complex/critical technology projects. 
  5. Three (3) years of experience influencing strategy for mid to large sized organizations.
  6. Two (2) years of IT Infrastructure experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with State and Federal computer security and data privacy laws and regulations.
  2. Knowledge of computer programming and scripting languages.
  3. Knowledge of current security and privacy threat landscape, and monitoring/prevention methods
  4. Knowledge of infrastructure subjects including servers, workstations, networking concepts, virtualization, databases, inter and intra communication protocols.
  5. Knowledge of information interface options and their uses, including API’s, files via FTP, service bus.
