As of Jan. 1, 2025, the IRS increased the contribution limits to 401(k) and 457 accounts. This includes specific increases for participants who are ages 60 through 63.

Participants must reach the deductible amount before the plan pays its share. Coinsurance and total out-of-pocket maximums also reset on Jan. 1.

Participants still have to meet eligibility and other plan requirements.

Timing is everything for new retirees’ insurance benefits. Avoid a delay in coverage by reporting each employee’s last year of eligible service credit to TRS.
