HMOs network-restricted health plans available only to members who live or work in specific Texas counties, and their eligible dependents. Members typically pay full cost for care received from providers outside the network (except emergency care). Each HMO includes comprehensive prescription drug coverage administered by the HMO directly.
Note: COBRA allows for continuation of coverage, but is limited to the benefits you have when you leave employment for a maximum of 18 months. However, HMO participants are eligible for an additional six months of coverage for a maximum of 24 months.
