It’s hard to keep your nutrition on track when there are get-togethers to watch your favorite sports and celebrate birthdays and holidays. It’s easy to let one day of indulgence slip into another and another.

That’s why it’s important to be part of communities that remind us to fuel our bodies with the right vitamins and nutrients.

Tackle your health goals with teamwork!

HealthSelect of Texas® medical plan participants, including those enrolled in Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM, can join online groups and weight management programs, at no additional cost.

Join a community

Register for the online Nutrition Connect and the Fitness Connect Communities. Learn about well-being and share experiences with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) wellness consultants and other state employees.

Participate in the 2024 Get Fit Texas! Challenge

Register for the Get Fit Texas! challenge online. This competition challenges you to complete at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week.

Not sure where to start? Take breaks from sitting still. Look for ways to increase your time moving. For example, make walking an everyday habit or take a quick stretch break. Do a few squats and calf raises at your desk.

Take a class in a gym or at home

Eligible HealthSelect medical participants, including those enrolled in Consumer Directed HealthSelect, also can join the HealthSelect Fitness Program for unlimited access to a variety of gyms, as well as digital classes you can do from home.

There is a variety of on-demand videos, live streams, workout and wellness videos and nutritional tutorials. Use the promo code GETFIT2024 during the month of March and you won’t pay an enrollment fee!

Learn weight management skills

WondrTM and Real Appeal® are two no-cost weight management programs for those enrolled in a HealthSelect medical plan through BCBSTX (excluding Medicare-primary participants) and meet the program’s eligibility requirements. You must be 18 years or older with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 23 or higher. Each of these programs can help you reach your weight goals and improve your overall health. You’ll be taught scientifically proven ways to help your overall well-being.
